A week by week timeline |
||
Week 1 The experiment was decided on along with a null hypothosis.The research was started and the methodology and equipment needed were decided on. Week 2 The second week the research continued on running a titration to find out the vitmain C content of different fruits.The website was updated including drawing a equipment diagram and the method chosen. Week 3 The third week was used to fill out the student practical request form.The expected values of vitamin C were found for each fruit or vegetable. Week 4 This week the experiment was ran for the first time and juicing the fruits took a lot of time and was not very effective as the solution was too lumpy to test properly. Another practical request sheet was filled in asking for fruit juices rather than whole fruits. Week 5 This week the titration was run using shop bought fruit jucies. This was quicker and easier than jucing the fruits. Over the next few weeks the experiment will be re done to gain more results to carry out statistical tests on. Week 6 This week was a non practical week and so the statistical test was chosen for when the results were obtaied. The chi squared test was chosen as it looks the expected and observed amounts of vitamin C in each juice. Week 7 This week the chi sqaured test was carried out but it unfortunately isnt the right statistical test for the data obtained, this is because the chi squared test is for counted data not measured data. So this means the t-test will be used instead. Week 8 This week the t-Test was carried out and these results were used to form the analysis and conclusions. The website was completed with the addition of references. The website was checked to ensure all the information was added correctly.
